I was really surprised  to learn that some acquiring banks won’t underwrite business from vacation rental managers.   Vacation rental owners are ok, but not vacation rental managers.  In a nutshell some underwriters simply won’t underwrite any groups that “accept payments on behalf of others”.  In credit card lingo, when another party accepts a credit card payment on behalf of another, that is called “factoring”.

After doing some research. on the Internet and after talking with some reps, I was again surprised to learn that not a lot of people had much information that could help me find an ISO that would underwrite both new and existing vacation rental managers.  But I persevered and ended up finding three ISOs that would underwrite vacation rental managers.

MerchantPartners.com will underwrite vacation rental managers.  They also have a gateway at: https://www.onlinemerchantcenter.com that appears to support the secure vault feature.  I’ve spoken to the folks at MerchantPartners.com several times and they appear to have all the functionality I need to integrate to InnFirst.com. However, I am still waiting for confirmation from one of their developers as well as pricing from their sales team.

MerchantPartners underwrites through the Royal Bank of Scotland.

GoToBilling.com is a company that ultimately resells through Wells Fargo.   Wells Fargo will underwrite vacation rental managers.   Additionally, GoToBilling offers a gateway service that will soon be integrated into InnFirst.com as they also offer a secure vault.
